The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics is redefining the way musculoskeletal care is delivered across the region with locations throughout Maryland, DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Melanie has been a licensed Occupational Therapist for over 10 years, and has had the opportunity to work in various inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings across the country.
Her career began at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, where she developed an interest for learning more about the complexities of the upper extremity and hand. Her experience throughout the years, working with a multitude of patient populations with both post-operative and neurological diagnosis', has refined her ability to treat patients from a holistic approach. Melanie treats each patient with compassion and is particularly passionate about working with patients to honor their needs as she guides them through their individualized course of rehabilitation.
She finds that Occupational Therapy allows her to combine her passion for art/creativity and science – especially when designing and fabricating custom orthoses for her patients. She stays current with the current ASHT literature to ensure evidence-based rehabilitation in order to provide the most efficient and innovative treatment for her patients.
In her spare time, Melanie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, working out, all things DIY and planning events.
