Dr. Pereles grew up in Potomac, MD., attending Churchill High School. He was a university scholar at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Chemistry. He stayed at the University of Pennsylvania for medical school, getting his M.D. in 1987. He completed his Orthopaedic residency at the George Washington University and a Sports Medicine/arthroscopy fellowship at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia. He is board certified and holds advanced certification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Pereles is a medical consultant to Runner's World magazine and has been a "top Doc" in Washingtonian and Checkbook magazines since 1997.
